Built in 1612 as a residence for the Cavendish family, Bolsover Castle is steeped in elegance and lavish décor. The rich panelling, elaborate fireplaces and painted ceilings endorse the exquisite craftsmanship. The Castle is open all year round and features an indoor riding school as well as a glorious enclosed garden. Bolsover Castle regularly hosts living history events, open-air concerts and Shakespeare plays and will be featuring in the next BBC adaptation of Jane Eyre in Autumn 2006.
